Port Elizabeth will liven up shortly with the arrival of all of the teams participating in the IRB Sevens World Rugby Series which takes place in Port Elizabeth on the 7th & 8th December 2013.

Events of this nature contribute a lot to the local economy as many people from all over South Africa and from overseas attend events of this nature.

The Rugby 7’s takes place at the iconic Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, otherwise known as the “Sunflower”, the shape of the stadium purports to be that of the Sunflower. The stadium is known for its excellent views of the pitch from wherever you sit, you are also close the playing action.

If you have not attended a Sevens tournament before then you are in for a surprise in that it is very fast spaced with lots of entertainment in between and being in Port Elizabeth we have our very own brass band that does it own thing at the Tournament. Listed to provide entertainment during the event are Jeremy Loops and Friends, a Cape Town musician skilled in guitar, harmonica, beatbox, Ukelele, banjo and loop pedal, to name but a few of his instruments and Crazy White Boy, who need no introduction. There will also be the Cheer Leaders, otherwise known as “The Babes” and they will be wowing you all with their incredible talent. Remember to feel free to attend in fancy dress and you and your friends will add to the spectacle in your fancy dress.

Tickets start from R50, which is excellent value for an international event of this nature.

Remember too that Nelson Bay Tourism is offering a Tourism Pass for the event. At a discounted price of R200, which includes tickets to the games and is valid for the whole weekend of the event, this surely represents exceptional value. Visit the NMB Pass website for terms and conditions.

We at Treetops have been privileged over the years that the tournament has run in Port Elizabeth to have had guests from many parts of the world attending the tournament. They have all previously commented how much they enjoyed themselves in Port Elizabeth, great stadium and many excellent restaurants and Pub’s to enjoy one’s self in.

This year is no exception and we are well booked again and looking forward to hosting our guests and telling them all about Port Elizabeth and what we have to offer. So looking forward to seeing you all at The International 7’s. ENJOY!
